Very comfortable to walk in, fit as expected. Look fantastic with jeans tucked in. I was having a lot of trouble finding cute boots that fit my calves-most boots were too wide /big in the calf for me. You are able to adjust these with the ties up the back then just use the zipper to go on and off. I wear 7.5 and these fit as expected, my foot is a bit on the wider side and these are fine. Good for slimCalves, mine measure approx 13.5”-14” around the biggest part of The calf depending on which pants I have on and these are able to adjust for a slim fitting sleeker look. I do not care for a large gap in the back of the boots between leg and boot, so these are nice. Sometimes the back bow tie comes undone and I have to re-tie whole out and about. I probably need to learn a better bow tie knot.I had some similar ones that I got in Italy. I loved them but they seemed to sorta shrink for some reason (none of my other leather boots have shrunk from there, but whatever.) These also are supposed to be waterproof, and since I only wear boots when it’s cold and possibly wet, that will be good. They’re a tad larger than I anticipated, but not too small and that’s what I was going for. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9, and these are size 9. I got a nice compliment on them yesterday. I would have preferred the toe box to be a little narrower, but I have narrow feet, so….yeah. And there is plenty of room from the toe to the end. I guess I could wear thick socks, but they’re fine and I like them. I could have probably tried for an 8.5, but I was gunshy from the shrunken ones and I didn’t want to go through the return process and then have the 8.5 be too small.I have very skinny feet and calves. It's always been hard for me to find boots that fit me, but these are absolutely the best boots I've ever had! I usually wear an 8.5 to 9 and order the 9, hoping that I could wear a fairly thick sock with them. I received them today, put my socks on, put the boots on and I haven't taken them off! They are SO comfortable and look gorgeous. The dark brown suede is beautiful. I had to tighten the laces as much as I could to fit my calves, but that was no big deal. I'm looking forward to wearing them this winter and for many years to come. If you are on the fence about these boots and have small calves, you can't go wrong with these.Beautiful. Comfortable. Deep color.Great for thin calves.Highly recommend!!!Update: after wearing the boots just one day- the toe area stretched, so sizing down is probably a good idea. Will be exchanging for half size smaller.I love these boots. I have two pairs of the short model and just got the tall version and they are so very soft and comfortable! I recommend them very much.I love these boots! Soft but sturdy, and I love the snake skin pattern. It’s much softer in person. The sole and suede are very comfortable. And grey/ taupe not tan at all. I am a size 8.5 and have 14 3/4 inch calves. I had to loosen the strings quite a bit to wear them just with leggings. There is a flap under the ties to adjust so no problem. I love the look …but If you have bigger than 15” calves you may think the ties need to be loosened too much to look even in the back. It takes a while to get them tied just right. Other than that these are wonderful. So comfortable!! Better than my Clark’s and as good as my favorite dansko boots. You will not be disappointed.I have flat feet, had a bone spur removed on the top of my R large toe and I am not skinny. I have calves, not fat but they have "Shape". I owned the black leather first and fell in love. I also have plantar fasaitis (spelled wrong in a hurry) bone spurs on bottom of foot and these FEEL GREAT. I work in an office setting but walk to get our mail and go out to interview clients and do inspections so I get in alot of walking in a day. These are perfect. I had to loosen the back laces but as they were worn and stretched I wound up tightening them. I cant' say enough good about them. They are wide enough in the toe box so it does not hurt where I had surgery.These boots fit right out of the box. For reference, I bought 8.5, I have medium size calves, and my feet are on the wider side. The brown color is beautiful and these boots feel like quality. I’m a happy customer.
